If the winner is Dan, I can see why he would do this. Michelle would definitely be superficial about it and would vote for him in the end just because he picked her. It would give him a great chance to bend her ear a bit too.

It seems like the choice was to take one person from the final 9. Dan told the others that the choice was to take someone or go alone.
