My Experience at the Live Eviction Show

I went very early (around 11am) with my ex-husbands wife. We got there and there was nowhere to wait, nowhere to be and the security guard was no letting us in, no way.

We went back home for a few hours and returned to the studio around 2pm. This time there was 3 of us as we talked to my ex-husband to join us.

We found a place to park on the street and hung out with the page out in front of the studio for a while. It was his job to tell people coming to the show that they couldn’t get into the parking structure until 3:45.

He turned back numerous cars with people going to the show. A few people came and joined our “line” Though there wasn’t supposed to be one.

At the appointed time we were let in to the studios. We had to go through metal detectors. I was first! LOL

We could not bring in cell phones, cameras and the like, you had to put them back in your car if you had them.

After a short walk, we were taken to an area where they gave us a paper with a number and you have your picture taken with it. After that we signed our life away and filled out a guest card.

We waited as more and more people came. During this time a man with the collected guests cards started calling out names of people and talking to them.

On this guest card, you indicated your personal information, who you thought would be evicted, who you wanted to be evicted, your favorite BB10 HG, favorite BB HG of all time, how often you watched BBAD, did you watch the feeds, how many times a week did you watch the show and a question you would like to ask any HG.

As this man walked around he was asking specific people about their questions.

(I had known better and had not put a question down) However, my ex decided he wasn’t going to let me get away with this. He made sure this man knew how much of a fan I was. The man talked to me a bit and then went on to others. He came back later to me with a ton of questions. By now people all around are listening to me…. I outted myself as the most over the top BB fan there (how many countries I watch live streaming, how many monitors.. ) If any one was there they know who I am. I was laughing I was so embarrassed, but others seemed to be laughing with me ( I hope)

We are finally lined up and head towards the compound. First I saw the chain link fence with tarp on it, I knew that was the house yard. I wanted to yell out (but obviously I wouldn’t do that)

We pass an outdoor storage area. I see the big buckets used for the Beer Pong type game last summer (one said FEAST). There are more props on the right hand side (the big popcorn buckets used last season and the season before.) There are workers completing some type of things that look like wooden water towers maybe. (Expect to see those soon)

When you are watching the feeds and you hear sawing and hammering, that IS people making stuff for the show. They are working maybe 50 ft from the yard.

We get to the sound stage door and we are made to stop for a while. They line us up in twos. They start pulling people out of line and bring them to the front. Apparently the color you are wearing has a lot to do with if you will sit towards the front. They do not want obvious stripes and big patterns either.

Finally, we go in. They have already filled the first row and most of the 2nd. The studio is small. There was maybe 100 people in the audience, when all was said and done.

Pretty much what you see on TV is all there is to that sound stage. There is an area in front of where Julie Chen stands (on the circle) that is about 6 – 10 feet to the wall and that is it. (That is where all the cameras are)

A guy comes out and tells us all the rules. No chewing gum, no cell phones (if you have a cell phone and it rings you are out) I guess he is the audience warm up dude.

He talks about BB a bit, then goes into some TV trivia questions about The Brady Bunch and Happy Days. Some movie stuff

Eric comes out (main floor dude) and he is great. He explains to us we have to be quiet because the HGs don’t know we are there. Yesterday they had a run through with an audience to see what could be heard in the house.

Do you remember yesterday when they went on outside lockdown and had pizza? (Odd at that time) Well that is when they had their run-through. They listened from inside to see what they could hear in the studio.

Eric tells us what we can and can not do. No booing. We look at Julie Chen when she is there ( do not look at one of the gazillion monitors) He well tell us when to clap and when to stop. We are to smile when we are clapping so we don’t look like crazy people. He wants to make good TV, and make us look good.

We are to do fake clapping for a run through (it was funny).

Julie Chen comes out, he has everyone do fake clapping (we can’t do real claps until the show goes on) She does a single run through of some lines on the steps. She leans over to a couple people and says she will probably shake your and your hands.

Julie was breathtaking. She is such a tiny woman. She was poured in the dress she had on (she was wearing a thong) and she had very high heels on that my ex’s wife really loved.

She had makeup/hair finished on the set. Soon it was time for the show. On some monitors we could see Renni and Brian sitting in their chairs already. We also saw the set up for shot in the HOH room.

The crowd was interesting. Opposite of what I thought I was going to find. There were more people there that wanted Brian to stay than not. The majority seemed to not like Libra. The two that wanted Brian out the most were driving my ex crazy (who didn’t have a dog in the fight) They counted each vote for Brian, smiling and laughing with glee. They looked like they could have given Renny a run for the money in the clothing department. They also were clear that they liked Libra.

So, we clap when we are told to, look at Julie when we are told to. Watch the same videos you see at home. It was by how the audience reacted to these videos I could tell what people thought about the HGs. When the sock puppets came on we were laughing. It seemed almost everyone liked that.

During a break, Eric teased about Ollie not wanting to hook up with a girl in the house.

When the votes to evict were cast , the sound to the DR was off, We had to lip read to know. When Angie voted for Brian, the crowd kinda gasped together, not expecting that.

Knowing that Brian was probably going to be voted out, some of the people on the ends wanted to reach out to him. We were told that was ok.

When Brian finally came out, we clapped as told. We watched the interview, but afterwards when he got up to leave the crowd really applauded for him. When he looked back and waved as he went out the door, we clapped for him again (Not on cue)

Note about Brian, he was taller and a lot hotter in person then I expected, his voice was great.

During the HOH comp, they have a bulletin board with all the competing HGs pics/names on it, in the order they are in the booths. As the questions are answered, Eric (who is almost laying on the floor) pulls down the pictures of those that are eliminated so Julie just reads those names. They are then removed from the board area. This continues. (so if Julie makes a mistake, it may not be her fault)

After the show, we stay for the Daily Show interview (right after the show)

Eric tells us not to say anything about what happened since Brian left (who won HOH) This prompts someone in the audience to ask if he is going into sequester, to which Eric won’t answer yes or no.

They set up the chairs and Brian comes back out. He gets a much warmer real applause now. She asks him some detailed questions about what happened in the house. Julie tells Brian that Jessie won HOH. She asks him some true/false questions about what has happened since he went into sequester.

They are done, he leaves. She stays in the area. And we are slowly moved back outside and led out of the studios.

That is basically it. I am sure I am leaving out something. Feel free to ask me.

Now I know that a lot of you are going to say it was very fake (the audience) yes it was controlled.

BUT!!! I had my day and enjoyed it. Please don’t rain on my parade. There is another thread you can hate on having audiences.

Could you see yourself when you watched the show back?

Congrats for gettiing to do this! I went to a filming of The Next Great American Band and watched that show and all reality shows with audiences a bit differently now.

Awesome NightShade!

I like that even though the audience seems rather pointless, they are gathering info on who people like, etc.

Let me think about it.. I am so tired right now.. and the things that happened are kinda blurring for me... Which is why I wanted to type it out right away.
